RE: IBM not helping ~Umberto Nongeroson 14.May.03 01:05 PM a Web browser Domino Server 6.0.1Windows 2000
Last I checked, my paycheck and business card said "IBM Corporation". So I am puzzled by both responses that say that "IBM must do something". Why, when Dr. Ambuj Goyal says very clear things about the future of Lotus Notes and Domino, is that insufficient? Do you really expect everyone at IBM to talk about everything we offer to the market equally? I can't really tell you, for example, why you would hire IBM Global Services's ESMT (Enterprise Solutions for Microsoft Technologies) group to implement Microsoft Exchange. But the reality is, IBM does do that. Can I tell you anything about the work that the eServer team does to make Oracle DB a great server on their hardware? Uh, no. But IBM does do that.
I'm not denying the buzz/hype/push around WebSphere, and there are good reasons for that. It's #1 in the market and is indeed the base platform for the J2EE "next gen" efforts from Lotus and other parts of IBM Software.
